How accurate are the transcriptions?

Rico Scribe uses OpenAI's Whisper AI, which provides industry-leading accuracy. Results vary based on audio quality, accent, and background noise, but typically achieve 90-95% accuracy with clear audio.

Is there a limit on recording length?

With a premium subscription, there are no length limits. You can record thoughts, meetings, brainstorming sessions, or lectures of any duration. Longer recordings may take a few minutes to transcribe.

What happens to my audio files?

Audio files are sent securely to our servers for processing, then immediately deleted after transcription. We only store the text transcription, not the original audio.

Can I edit transcriptions?

Yes! You can edit both the title and the transcription text directly in the app. All changes are saved automatically to your account.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple ID account settings:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Select Rico Scribe
5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Can I export my transcriptions?

Yes! You can share transcriptions via the Share button in the app. This allows you to export to Notes, Mail, Messages, or any app that accepts text.

What languages are supported?

OpenAI Whisper supports 90+ languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and many more. The AI automatically detects the language being spoken.

Do I need an internet connection?

You can record audio offline, but you'll need an internet connection to transcribe recordings since processing happens in the cloud for optimal accuracy and speed.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption for data transmission and storage. Your transcriptions are stored securely with Firebase, and only you have access to your account data.

What can I use Rico Scribe for?

Rico Scribe is perfect for capturing thoughts, meetings, lectures, brainstorming sessions, personal journaling, voice memos, and any spoken content you want to remember. Always ensure you have permission to record when other people are involved.

How do AI summaries work?

After transcription, you can generate AI-powered summaries using ChatGPT. Choose from three levels: Quick (3-5 bullet points), Balanced (detailed paragraphs), or Comprehensive (full breakdown with takeaways). Summaries are available to premium subscribers.
